Breitling Reveals Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 and B01 42 Erling Haaland Editions
Erling Haaland is an enigma, bringing his own unique style and personality to the top flight of football. Even in a relatively tame season by his standards, he finished third in the top scorer list. However, his new watches with Breitling are anything but tame, combining precious metals with meteorites. The two watches are the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland and the Chronomat B01 42 Erling Haaland.
Breitling Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland
First up (pun intended) is the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland, a 40mm Chronomat in stainless steel with a platinum bezel and a meteorite dial. The influence of Haaland is clear in the choice of materials. The platinum bezel feels completely unnecessary, especially for a travel watch like the GMT that is prone to dings and scratches on a globetrotting trip. However, this is a watch designed in part by a footballer, so I think if any watch could stand to be ostentatious in a footballer style, it’s this one. And let’s be honest, it’s unlikely to get dinged when traveling on a private jet.
I think this watch looks pretty handsome. The silver tone of the platinum/steel case complements the meteorite dial, and the GMT 24-hour scale is separated by a thin black ring. This gives the dial a nice sense of structure, highlighting the various parts of the watch while making the whole thing look cohesive. The gold GMT hand adds another layer of prestige to this watch, although the seconds hand is adorned with Haaland’s initials as a counterpoint.
The Weidmann pattern on the meteorite dial is also unique and eye-catching. The signature cross-hatched indexes are unique between the two watches. Breitling's meteorite is made from the most common source of meteorites in the watchmaking industry - the Muonionalusta meteorite, which is one of the oldest materials on Earth.

Turning the watch over, you will see a solid caseback engraved with Erling Haaland's iconic lotus celebration pose. In addition, the caseback is engraved with his name, jersey number (9), and the commemorative words "One of 500", indicating that this watch is a limited edition. Under the caseback is the Breitling Calibre 32 movement with a power reserve of 42 hours.

Breitling Chronomat B01 42 Erling Haaland
The second watch is the Chronomat B01 42 Erling Haaland, which is actually divided into two limited editions. They are made for Erling Haaland and his friends and family. Both watches have the same structure, with a 42mm rose gold case, a meteorite chronograph dial and black subdials. Like the GMT watch in the picture above, it also has Haaland's initials engraved on the central hand (chronograph seconds hand).
The difference between the standard and Haaland Signature Editions is not visible on the dial. You have to look at the side of the case, the signature version has the words "Erling Haaland 9" engraved on it, while the standard version does not. They also have slightly different casebacks, with the signature version having the outline of the Lotus Celebration, while the standard version does not. The limited editions are also numbered differently, which makes sense.
