How can I optimize confocal settings for live-cell imaging?

I'm using a Zeiss LSM 800 to image live HeLa cells expressing GFP-tagged proteins. I'm struggling with photobleaching and poor signal. Any tips on laser power, scan speed, or averaging settings would be helpful.
