Macau received an average of over 100,000 visitors a day during the four-day Easter period from Friday (March 29) to Monday (April 1).

Data from Macau's public security police showed an average of 110,000 people in the first three days of the Easter season was down on a modest performance on Monday, when there were 75,882 arrivals.

Locally, Easter Monday is only a public holiday in Hong Kong, while Easter Friday is a public holiday in Hong Kong and Macau. The Easter season is not a break period in mainland China.

The total number of Macau arrivals from March 29 to April 1 totaled 406,329. Other data released earlier by Macau's public security police showed the highest single-day tally of 122,235 during the four-day Easter Saturday.

The number of tourists arriving via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge on Monday stood at 24,001. That's almost equivalent to 25,510 tourists entering Macau via a border crossing with Zhuhai in China's Guangdong province.
