Most recently, the Ontario Lottery and Game Company and Major League Baseball announced a multi-year cooperative agreement. The deal made OLG's PROLINE Sportsbook the league's official sports betting partner. The contract is also the first sports betting partnership for MLB in the state.

OLG uses the PROLINE and PROLINE+ sportsbook brands to provide safe and regulated sports betting to local bettors in online and retail forms. Like other game offerings, 100% of sportsbook revenue is reinvested in the local economy. Players must be 18 years old to play in retail stores and at least 19 years old for online alternatives.

Under the agreement, OLG will be MLB's official sports betting partner with PROLINE Sportsbook, which will allow Crown Corporation to receive distribution rights to the league's official logo and cross-promotion across MLB digital and social channels, while free digital games will also be available for baseball fans throughout the season.

Dave Friedmore, chief digital and strategy officer at OLG, said that working with global organizations like MLB allows Crown to develop a thrilling and unique interactive experience for bettors. He said the true value of the Crown deal is the fact that PROLINE users can get closer to the game they love.

Kenny Gersh, MLB's vice president of business development, also said a few words about the deal. He said the league should look for creative and experienced partners in all regions as the organization continues to seek additional revenue to attract fans through sports betting. Finally, he said, OLG will prove to be a reliable partner with a vision to expand the league's exposure.

The OLG and MLB agreements will provide many benefits for both sides, and PROLINE+ will secure a unique and diverse array of interesting baseball content for digital platforms. OLG will also have distribution and cross-promotion rights for the league logo across MLB digital and social channels. The Crown will also feature free playable games during the season.

Late last month, Crown announced a new deal with renowned payment platform Paysafe, which will enable Paysafe's marketing technology and services provider, Income Access, to activate OLG's new affiliate program. The two companies have long been significant partners, with their first partnership dating back to January 2015.
