Japan's casino regulator asks national governments to increase organization budget by nearly 10% for fiscal 2023.

The requested amount was 3.88 billion yen (US$27.7 million), up 0.3.5 billion yen (9.9%) from the fiscal 2022 budget, according to information collected by GGRAcia's Japanese correspondent.

The committee expects the number of employees to rise by 20 to 177, up 12.7% year-on-year.

Even if one or both of the two existing applicants get permission from the Japanese authorities, it is unlikely that a casino resort will operate in Japan before the end of the current decade.

The Commission's estimate of personnel and operating costs for fiscal 2023 is 2.85 billion yen, up 160 million yen from the previous year.

The cost is expected to be 460 million yen, up 70 million yen from the previous year, "establish an organization that oversees casino operators and others."

The cost of "examination by casino operators, etc. to confirm the suitability of casino license grant" is 220 million yen, up 20 million yen from the previous year.

The cost for fiscal 2023 to build an information technology (IT) system, which is "reviewed by casino operators and others to confirm the suitability of granting casino licenses," is 60 million yen, the same as in fiscal 2022.

The cost excludes 1.01 billion yen that Japan's digital agencies (government agencies set up to support the "digitalization" of Japan's economy, government and society) will pay by the Japan Casino Regulatory Commission for such work. 온라인경마
