Dancers need to build a solid core to perform their dance technique. They should strengthen the abdominal muscles, back, shoulders, hamstrings, glutes, calves and upper arms to support the spine and help prevent injury.
Core strengthening exercises can be done through static holds, resistance, and weightlifting. This is a fun form of exercise, that most dance classes offer their participants to increase energy and stamina. If you're looking to tone the muscle groups, do some core exercises every day.
Core stability
If you want to perform better on stage, you need to strength and conditioning for dancers strengthen the core. Core strength training helps dancers control their movements and support their entire body. You may start doing core strengthening exercises at a low intensity so that you can slowly build up to higher intensities. When your dancing becomes more advanced, you will want to add some core strengthening exercises into your weekly program.
Prehabilitation
Athletes are required to participate in regular stretching exercises to stay in peak physical condition. Dancers should start practicing similar exercises for their bodies. These exercises include the following:
