Bucherer, Jacob & Co. and Sotheby's Collaborate on Otherworldly Triple Tourbillon
The list of watch brands with experience in outer space is getting longer. Bucherer and Jacob & Co have teamed up to create the one-of-a-kind three-axis tourbillon Jacob & Co. Astronomia Tourbillon Bucherer Blue. The watch traveled to space in April and was worn by a crew member of Axiom Space's Kennedy Space Center mission in Florida. It will be auctioned by Sotheby's this summer for charity. Investor and philanthropist Eytan Stibbe was part of a four-person team that spent 17 days, 1 hour and 37 minutes in space, orbiting Earth 273 times at nearly 17,500 mph at an altitude of 250 miles, flying Time over 7 million miles in total. Stibbe wears a tourbillon during his travels, showing exactly when to launch and return to Earth, enduring extreme G-forces and microgravity in space.
The dark blue starry sky background is meant to represent the starry night sky. The top and sides of the case are made of sapphire crystal, offering a glimpse of the movement and four constantly rotating satellites: the time subdial, the tourbillon cage, the spherical diamond for the moon and the lacquered Earth Earth for the moon. All products feature the Bucherer blue colour scheme. "It seems fitting that the Bucherer Blue Observatory finally revolves around the Earth," commented Jacob Arabov, chairman of Jacob & Co. Jacob & Co Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon: As dynamic and fun as a supercar, it's inspired by
Our friends at The Watches TV visited Jacob & Co to get an inside look at the crazy Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon, the second timepiece created to celebrate the watch and jewellery brand's partnership with the iconic automaker.
While the first watch to commemorate the partnership is an existing Jacob model with some Bugatti-inspired details — the partnership is still so fresh that there's hardly time for anything else — the Chiron is brand new . We guarantee you won't see anything like this before! Richard Mille Rafael Nadal RM 35-02
The Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon pretty much has chronographs as a side dish: the most striking part of this watch is the sapphire crystal engine block with 16 working "pistons" and a "crankshaft". It's fascinating to see these little pistons do the same job as their life-size cousins. Of course, no gas is involved here: the animation is driven by a spring and activated on demand by a pusher at the bottom of the case.
Jacob & Co paid great attention to detail, with the entire movement suspended on "shock absorbers", which challenged the movement designers to ensure that the crown stem could handle movements of a size that would normally not fit. high quality copy watches
The power reserve display at 3 o’clock is similar to the fuel tank display, and Jacob & Co even extends the “exhaust pipe” from the “engine block”, flanked by a flying tourbillon placed on top at a 30-degree angle. watch. The tourbillon can be admired through a sapphire crystal window modeled on the famous Bugatti grill.
While impressive, the tourbillon is more of a bystander, as the engine block is fascinating and clearly the focal point. The whole watch is very eye-catching, just like its car watch.
Jacob & Co needed a rather large case to display this miniature marvel, which was more of a lightweight titanium framed suit with a sapphire crystal window. Replica BRM V12-46-SA Watches
