Gold Mining Shaker Table Working Principle

Essentially, the Gold Shaker Table is a mechanized gold pan which runs with a high degree of efficiency and continuously. The driving mechanism causes the deck to make longitudinal reciprocating shaking. This shaking motion is helpful to transport the concentrate or heavy materials to the concentrate side of the deck.

Slurry continuously enters the slurry distribution box and flows laterally and evenly to the deck. At the same time, the flushing water is continuously injected into the water distribution box. The lateral water flows over the riffles and stirs vortices between the riffles. The materials in the grooves are loosed under the action of water flow, and the fine particles are suspended in the upper layer of grooves and the mineral particles roll over to make the heavy minerals enter the lower layer of the grooves. Each layer of water has various velocities based on the distance from the water's surface.

The highest velocity is the layer just below the surface of the water, and the lowest velocity layer is above the deck surface. In between these layers are differing velocities, based upon the distance from the water's surface.  According to the distance to the water upper surface, each water layer has different speed. The highest velocity is a layer of water below the water top, while the velocity near the bed surface is the lowest.

It is difficult for heavy minerals to climb over the riffles. Under the reciprocating motion of the bed surface, the heavy minerals in the grooves gradually move to the concentrate side of the deck in the grooves. The mixed minerals with medium specific gravity and not fully liberated particles flow to the middlings area. The lateral water flow scours the lighter mineral particles  to enter the next groove, and finally flow to the tailings side.

Shaking Tables Applications

The shaking tables are widely used to separate tungsten, tin, tantalum, niobium, gold and other rare and precious metals. In the production of small, medium or large scale mineral processing plants, it is also adopted for different processing section such as roughing, cleaning and scavenging the different particle size of coarse sands (2-0.5mm), fine sands (0.5-0.074mm), slimes (-0.074mm) and so on. The Mining Shaker Table separate minerals of iron, manganese ore or coal also. The effective recovery particle size range is 2-0.22 mm when the shaking tables separate tungsten and tin.
