Transfer on arrival in London is one of the key features prospective Trafalgar Tours clients look for when planning their European vacation. With many flights to London from most countries over long distances and overnight stays, the last thing on most people's minds upon arrival is how to get to my hotel.
London is a city of about eight million people. It gets crowded at the best of times and confuses most people on earth to say the least. A taxi from Heathrow airport cars to central London costs around £50-60, around $100 and up in heavy traffic.
Do you really want to carry your suitcases and handbags around on the London Underground? As much as I love the London Underground, for someone tired of long flights and unfamiliar with London this could be a problem. Even if you come on a weekend when it's not very crowded, there are stairs and obstacles in the way.
These are just a few of the reasons why the Trafalgar Tours London broadcast became the cornerstone of Trafalgar's product launch in London. However if there is a weak link in the Trafalgar Tours product I would say it is an arrival transfer. Although it is a large part of the product, it has its own problems.
Follow some simple rules which I have explained here and or the same points mentioned in the attached video and everything will go smoothly.
1. View the first few vouchers in "Your Travel Documents". This is the red folder in your documents folder. They apply to transfers and pre-tour accommodations if your tour includes these as part of the package.
2. After collecting your baggage from the baggage carousel at the Arrivals Hall at Heathrow (or other destinations Trafalgar, Frankfurt, Rome, etc.). Attach the large orange Trafalgar label found in your Trafalgar Tours purse to your suitcase. NOT UNTIL.
3. As soon as you exit the arrivals hall, look for a Trafalgar representative who will be wearing a turquoise uniform and will most likely be holding a large Trafalgar sign.
4. If the Trafalgar representative is not visible after a few minutes (remember why he may not be there, he may be dealing with another Trafalgar customer) go to the Dot 2 Dot transfer desk. Here you will be asked for a voucher for transfer to your documents folder.
5. After a short 30-45 minute wait, take the transfer van to your hotel in London. There will likely be other guests from Trafalgar when you move to your hotel or another.
