Microbiome, refers to the collective genome of all the microorganisms, symbiotic and pathogenic inhabiting an environment. The gut microbiome is comprised of tremendous organisms that living in the human gut, including bacteria, archaea, viruses, and fungi, which play key contribute to host metabolism and are considered potential sources of novel therapeutics. Several diseases are now thought to be influenced by processes in the gut microbiome.
