Betadex-sulfobutyl-ether-sodium(SBEBCD, SBECD) is a kind of sodium salt which is alkylated by beta cyclodextrin with 1,4-butanesulfonic acid lactone under alkaline condition. It is a anion and high water-soluble beta cyclodextrin derivative.

Compared with betacyl dextrin, it has better water solubility and lower hemolytic effect, so it is a new kind of pharmaceutical excipient with very broad application prospect. http://www.cydextrins.com
