Growing up, most NBA stars dream of running out of NBA 2K MT this tube and into a huge arena full of thousands of fans roaring. Perhaps the only thrill that could rival understanding the dream of making it to the pros would be to purchase the most recent version of NBA2K to see yourself in the video game that you played growing up. Even though it may seem insignificant, there is a feeling of coming full circle. But not just one WNBA participant had until lately. When NBA 2K20 premiered in 2019, it was the very first time the yearly match -- that premiered in 1999 -- showcased WNBA players. Her predecessors did not get the opportunity to play as themselves, but Washington Mystics wing Aerial Powers could not help but make a comparison when she first played herself. "This is probably how the guys feel when they get in the league and they get a chance to play themselves on 2K," she said. "It's just surreal and is pretty fun."
"I'd have never thought they would implement girls into the game," Powers told USA TODAY Sports. "Even though I feel as though we ought to be in there." Dallas Wings guard Allisha Gray has been enjoying 2K since Shaquille O'Neal graced the cover in 2005, and that she has trouble believing that she's a part of it. Alexis Jones, who had been waived by the Atlanta Fantasy in August, has always enjoyed making her own participant on 2K and tends to mold his match after her very own. This is going to be the first year she won't need to make herself at the image of a guy.
"That was my fantasy come true, '' I really don't know about everybody else," Jones stated. "I understand that is one thing I always dreamed of as a little girl -- to maintain a 2K match. This chance to create yourself and build yourself and be a girl is dope." The importance of building your WNBA player can not be overstated, especially for young girls who wish to play basketball or are just fans of the sport. "I think it's astonishing that little girls can develop and actually play the game and understand that they can have the very same goals and accomplishments as guys," Jones said. Powers echoed the opinion and how important representation is for young ladies. She wants to see more progression with women in the video game industry in general.
Powers flows and plays video games on Twitch and has become especially active in gaming because the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. She even hosted an all-female 2K tournament in October that contained a 30-minute opening musical group by Grammy Award winning performer DJ Jazzy Jeff. The flow garnered over 26,000 audiences. The 2019 WNBA champion says if she plays video games she is occasionally met with misogynistic messages from different users, and she hopes that new modes like"The W" can make it much easier for women playing video games. "It sort of gives the younger girls a good look and says,'Hey, it is fine to be a female, like basketball and wish to Cheap NBA 2K21 MT Coins playwith,' because I understand a few of their male buddies might have a different opinion," Powers said. "But when you Find the women in the game, it's like,'Hey, this is all right.'"
