There are two indications of intelligence, focus and flexibility. It's inflexible in how it's been rammning updates throughout, and its focus is on RuneScape gold bucks not individuals. The problem originates in how Jagex communicates. In the core the Runescape forums are the core of the matter. Forums are where Jagex and players can talk and get Runescape rolling again. Perhaps Jagex believes that adapting itself to replicate all other MMOs will maintain Runescape from dying. A twist on adapt or perish. It's an issue of time, they can only talk to a few people per day. Most Jmods will have a small selection of players that they speak to, even if any. With Fmods (a few of them masked Jmods) stamping out any dissent on forums.

It's gotta change, Jagex has to adapt its own forums. First, drop the Fmod program altogether, make Fmods a paid occupation with Jagex, with professional criteria required. No longer Fmods referring to gamers since"you lot" etc. Seriously some Fmods are murdering sections of the discussion. Second, upgrade forums, with more voice and more choice. Let players discount others and possess other tools and construct programs in the forums. Give the RS forums the flexibility of Facebook, a rather simple method of grouping. But player pushed, not all these key forums that Jagex has polluting the turning and forums the forums to rigid regions.

Get a player council upward, let gamers vote for 12 players who have power to decide updates from a budget. A small one, few hundred k per year or thereabouts. If you need to use Facebook and Twitter, use them to nourish conversation involving the forums. This setup will discourage years like 2012 happening , where Jagex refused to listen to players. For instance, 90 percent of gamers love SoF and 80% adore EoC, which were just plain stupid things for Jagex to say. Adapt or perish, emotive crap. Talking does a better job, but instances running out. Tick Tock Jagex.

I'm an EOC supporter, a significant one. The matter with games, in addition to all technologies, is they are constantly advancing. Think back to when runescape was first launched 13-ish years back - consider how technology and gambling as a whole have progressed in the last thirteen decades. Think about how many runescape players (myself included) left for other MMORPGs that use a similar action bar system. Now I'm not saying runescape ought to be like WOW, maybe not at all, but most moos now follow the EOC-style HCI. Why do 99 percent do so?

Because its proven to work. Without updates like this runescape would perish, not only from cheap RS gold a game perspective, but from a business point of view. Jagex at the end of the day is a business that must pay its workers, cover tax and first and foremost make a gain. If they did not keep runescape on par with contest it would immediately lose out.
