Constantly pushing mtx to make short-term profits is exactly what has been the downfall of OSRS gold for a long moment. That's also the primary reason why the playerbase has been decreasing. Fantastic gaming experience with engaging and modern content higher player count more long term profits. I really liked how Steve Jobs put it on technology companies losing their invention and actual product development when marketing and revenue takes over the lead.
What you're saying is definitely true. Yes, and this is the reason they've been moving towards attempting to tie in some permanent improvement with every one of those MTX events - so that they are not just short-term gains but they do give some permanent value to the game - beginning with the graphical rework of the Dwarven Mine. Not so well-executed this time, but I believe we can all agree it is a step in the ideal direction.
This is more personal opinion, but that I also somewhat disagree with the labeling of those events as rigorously"MTX events". I've been engaging with this particular Artisan event without spending a dime and that I rather enjoy it. So long as the option is there to finish everything without losing cash, I don't see why it should be shunned. It provides some wonderful short-term aims to work towards with a decent reward.
You are under a delusion. Yak trak is just one more form of monetisation ontop of what's in the game already. That's why it ties to the game, they found battlepasses do well and knew it'd be a good way to market gold premier. More MTX articles will lead to a mass unsubbing of gamers who don't actively fork out money for MTX content. It needs to be MTX content + normal content released at exactly the same speed and as it stands there is certainly going to go worse if we all get are far less normal updates. Pretty much many players saw last year as a dud, in most reality desperate steps should have been published with anachronia. Jagex is poorly handling their staff or does not have enough to cater to normal subscribers.
It's still an MTX event however. It's intentionally designed for you to spend money directly on it. It's fine as articles, sure, but when the actual, excellent content is being delayed, it bites. It's also kind of Old School RuneScape Gold empty content generally. They simply added some things you can craft which mostly are feeble, and its addition to additional content.
