9mm mdf is quite a regular thickness for making furnitures or interior decorations. And red mdf is a special one, which has fire retardant feature and widely used to make acoustic panels or widely used in theaters, school, hospital, KTV, etc.
DAKE'S Fire Retardant(FR) MDF is classified as Euroclass B or C(EN13501-1) with low formaldehyde emission class E1.

Fire retardant mdf will be more functional if get melamine laminated or painted, you can find them everywhere even you can not figure out them easily. Because they are fancy with the face layers.
