Begin a food journal No matter how regularly you work out, if you are eating too many calories this can lead to weight gain. The difficulty many of us have is undervaluing our calorie content. Even the smallest of treats - crackers or a cappuccino - can add tonnes of calories to your daily content. To find out if you are unintentionally allowing calories slip under your mouth start weighing, measuring and writing down everything you eat and drink in a food journal. Then at the end of each day, count the number of calories you have had over the course of the day.
