CRL-40,941 is a wakefulness-promoting agent closely related to adrafinil. It is the bis(p-fluoro) ring-substituted derivative of adrafinil. It enhances wakefulness, attention capacity and vigilance, but its pharmacological profile is notably different from the amphetamines.
Crl-40,941 is less likely to cause jitteriness, anxiety, or excess locomotor activity - or lead to a hypersomnolent 'rebound effect' - than traditional stimulants. Subjectively, it feels smoother and cleaner than the amphetamines too. It may even be anxiolytic.
The normal elimination half-life of CRL-40,941 in humans is between 12 - 15 hours. So it's worth fine-tuning one's dosage schedule accordingly.
The drug is reported to have little or no side effects when taken at the correct dose over a short period of time. Fladrafinil is ONLY designed and intended for short term use. Long-term use and misuse of the drug can affect our brain in many ways. This medicine blocks the reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine in the presynaptic cleft immediately upon being released. Long-term use of the drug causes lesions on cerebral blood pathways and brain injury affects the efficiency of neurotransmitter substances in our brain.

New users should start with 30-80 mgs within 14-16 hours daily, and an adrafinil moderate dose is between 30-100 mg per day. The dosage to be increased as the effects are being experienced as the body reacts towards the dose. Dosage should not exceed 200mgs per day.

In fact, it's essentially the same substance but for the addition of a single molecule of fluoride. This addition greatly enhances its effects by making it easier for the body to absorb. The fluoride molecule explains the names fluorafinil and fluoromodafinil.
The drugs function is that of an eugeroic; that is, a drug which boosts wakefulness. The effects should be very familiar to any user of adrafinil or modafinil. Its action excites various neurotransmitters, such as histamine and dopamine. This is considered a safer pathway than alternative stimulants, such as amphetamines, which also have the potential for addiction.
