Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc on your keyboard.
On the Processes tab, look for Spy Sweeper.exe
Select Spy Sweeper.exe, then End Process
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks(year)\Components, then rename the folder downloadqbxx folder to downloadqbxx.old and reset the QuickBooks Desktop update.

Solution 1: Run QuickBooks as an Administrator
Close QuickBooks if it's open.
Right-click on the QuickBooks icon on your desktop.
Select "Run as administrator" from the context menu.
Go to "Help" > "Update QuickBooks."
Click on the "Update Now" tab.
Ensure the "Reset Update" checkbox is selected.
Click on "Get Updates" to initiate the update process.
After the update is complete, restart QuickBooks.

Solution 2: Disable User Account Control (UAC)
Open the Control Panel on your computer.
Navigate to "User Accounts" and then "User Accounts" again.
Click on "Change User Account Control settings."
Move the slider to "Never Notify."
Click "OK" to save changes.
Restart your computer to apply the changes.
