“You are trying to work with a company file that is located on another computer, and this copy of QuickBooks cannot reach the server on that computer. (H202)”
This could be happening for a few reasons including:
· You have incorrectly configured hosting settings.
· Your Firewall is blocking the file.
· There is a damaged.ND file present in your directory.
You can solve this in a few ways:
· Testing your network connectivity
o Turn off hosting for all connected workstations.
o Ping the name of your server from your workstation.
o Navigate to the shared folder and check your company file.
· Downloading the QuickBooks Network Diagnostic Tool
o Download the tool, and follow the instructions to install it successfully.
o Scan your folder using the tool.
o Make note of your IP addresses.
o Test the file for connectivity issues.
o Reopen the file in QuickBooks.
· Open your network ports to transmit data
o Add an exception to your Firewall for QuickBooks.
o Configure your Antivirus to allow QuickBooks transfers.
· Move your company file to a new location
o Create a new shared folder on the primary workstation.
o Set access permissions.
o Copy the .qbw extension to the new folder.
o Rescan the folder.
o Reopen your company file.
