This should be the first and most essential needs to be taken to avoid and to eliminate malware from the pc. There are various different anti-virus manufacturers out there to select from. Not just establishing the anti-virus program on the pc will fix the issue but it should be regularly modified with the newest malware definitions. The laptop computer or computer should be scanned regularly using the anti-virus program.

First off let me begin with saying that there is no “best” antivirus for any operating system. Each company that offers antivirus software has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Anyway’s, going back to your question the best antivirus and firewall software for Linux would be…

Avast. Now, most of you will be surprised, but don’t get me wrong, avast with Linux has some very good performance and detection rates.

Avast takes very little processing power to run, meaning it will not slow down the computer.

With that it also has very minimal false detection rates, meaning you won't be interrupted.

But, hey it also depends on the user, and his experience, so if you don’t like AVAST try looking for some other options for an antivirus.

I recommend visiting FatSecurity, they talk about how to protect yourself from viruses and the best antiviruses.
