Last week, Seneca Gaming announced the appointment of a new vice president and chief information officer (CFO), who will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of its three casino properties in western New York.

Seneca Gaming Corporation operates regulated gambling entertainment under the name of Seneca Nation in New York State and Gaming Compact, including Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, New York, Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, New York, and Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in downtown Buffalo, New York.

Kevin Neko, president and CEO of Seneca Games Company, noted that technology is paramount in every aspect of the tribe's business, from the experience offered to guests on the gaming floor to the operation of hotels, restaurants, etc. He welcomed Mr Leonard and said his qualifications and experience make him fit for the new role.

In his new position, Leonard will be responsible for operating and maintaining all information technology programs and systems at three casino amenities, has over 39 years of expertise in gambling and hospitality, and has been vice president of IT business solutions at Seneca Gaming since 2019.

He also served as Chief Information Officer of Tribal Companies from 2012 to 2015. Prior to working for Seneca Gaming Corp, he was vice president of IT at Resorts World Las Vegas, Las Vegas's newest property. He also served as IT director of Boyd Gaming Corporation in Las Vegas and IT director of Genesis Health Ventures.

Regarding the new appointment, Leonard said the company's commitment to leading the game and hospitality sector has always been impressive. And as the company's programs, systems and platforms grow and evolve, we appreciate the new opportunity to lead an outstanding IT team to align with the company's commitment.

Late last month, Seneca Nation of Indians shared with New York State that negotiations on a new game contract are going well and that Nation covers all bases. Tribe wants to strike a new agreement that reflects the current game scene and Tribe has been working on the company for two years.

Last summer the tribe celebrated the 20th anniversary of Empire State's gambling scene debut. At a press conference during the nation's presidential celebrations, Matthew Pagels shared that he wanted to see a new and fair game compact. He pointed out that with the launch of new casinos and lacinos in the area, the industry has expanded and is affecting the business of the country.
