"I try to participate in national championships about two to three times a year because I have less opportunities to interact with local teams compared to the metropolitan area. It is such a precious time for us."

Top amateur basketball clubs from all over the country participated in the 2024 Baekje King's Cup National Basketball Competition (hereinafter referred to as Baekje King's Cup) held in Iksan on the 20th. Among them, the Pocheon Storm, which participated the furthest, advanced to the final with a score of 1 win and 1 loss.

Pocheon Storm, led by CEO Choi Dong-soo, was founded in 1996 and has a long history. Pocheon Storm, which has a history of participating in various amateur basketball competitions across the country, came all the way to Iksan and gained happy memories and experiences.

Among them, Kim Jae-hyun (35), the Storm's deputy leader and the team's main point guard, is trying to interact with various players across the country through this Baekje Muwangbae.

Vice Chairman Kim Jae-hyun said, "In fact, if you stay in the Seoul metropolitan area, you will see more games played only by teams around Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. I try to participate in national competitions two to three times a year because I have fewer chances to interact with local teams compared to the metropolitan area. Regardless of whether I win or lose, I can check my team's level by competing with various teams, and I can feel what I lack and create opportunities for them to improve further. It is such a precious time for us."

"The Baekje King's Cup is not a lasting competition, but the organizers promoted it nationwide for a few months, allowing our team, which is far away, to participate. As a metropolitan team, I look forward to enjoying both local travel and basketball. There is also the grandeur that comes with the name Baekje King Mu. I feel the greater merit because it is a competition where only non-athletes can participate."
Pocheon Storm, with a total of 13 participants, including Vice President Kim Jae-hyun, competed with Iksan GO and Highball on the first day.
In a match against his first opponent, Iksan GO, he went on the offensive from the beginning to achieve his first win of the competition. However, in a match against his second opponent, Highball, they had a close game, but unfortunately lost due to lack of concentration in the second half.

The Storm players, who traveled for more than four hours to play against local powerhouses, were satisfied with playing against teams they had not usually seen regardless of the results, and continued, "It was fun. It was a great experience." In addition, the Iksan Basketball Association, which hosted the competition, surprised the Storm players from far away by giving them handmade raspberry wine.

The Storm team members looked bright, saying, "Thank you for being able to play in such a comfortable facility and thank you for preparing a surprise gift from the organizers."
