According to Intuit, Error Code -6000, -82: “An error occurred when trying to open the file” or “An error occurred when 
QuickBooks tried to access the company file” indicates that QuickBooks can’t access the company file, which is located on another computer. 
This error code occurs in multi-user environments.
There are so many troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue but here we are going to introduce you the very simple step through which user can fix it from your ends.
 Many steps engaged to check the hosting setting to verify the hosting setting please Press F2 button. 
Hence QuickBooks running to show the products information window the local server information block shows that hosting setting in the lower left of the window.

This error usually indicates that one or more client computers are incorrectly set up to host multi-user access. On each client computer displaying the error: In the No Company Open window, select File , then choose Utilities. Confirm that the menu option Host Multi-User Access is displayed.
