Socratic Brito, a foreign hitter for the KIA Tigers, has been excluded from the starting lineup for the first time in this season. Manager Lee Bum-ho made a change to the starting lineup for the second game between the teams against the Samsung Lions of the 2024 professional baseball league to be held at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field on Sunday.

The lineup consists of Park Chan-ho (striker), Kim Do-young (third baseman), Lee Woo-sung (first baseman), Choi Hyung-woo (designated hitter), Kim Sun-bin (second baseman), Choi Won-joon (right fielder), Lee Chang-jin (left fielder), Kim Tae-kyun (catcher) and Kim Ho-ryeong (center fielder). The lineup is interpreted as a preparation for Samsung's left-handed starter Lee Seung-min.

They put outfielder Socrates, infielder Seo Geon-chang, and catcher Han Jun-su on the bench. Instead, they deployed Kim Ho-ryeong and Lee Chang-jin, while Lee Woo-sung at the center line. Kim Sun-bin also returned after taking a day off. Choi Won-jun, who started as ninth player, also deployed as sixth player for the first time in this season.

"Socrates wanted to play 10 full games and give him a day off. He needs to take turns and adjust his condition. Sun Bin rested yesterday. The opponent is the left pitcher. I will use it in a pinch-hit situation," said Lee. Socrates had one hit in 14 at-bats in three games until the previous day.

Regarding the reason for using Choi as No. 6, he explained, "He is a left-handed starter, but he is in good condition these days. I pulled him forward considering many things, including performing well in the early stages of scoring."
