Hwang Yoo-min shot a 5-under 67 in the second round of the KLPGA Tour Doosan Construction Weave Championship held at Teddy Valley Golf & Resort (par 72) in Seogwipo, Jeju Island on the 5th.

Hwang Yoo-min, who shot a 10-under 134 total in the second round, beat Yoon Na and B.C. who played together for two days by eight strokes.

Hwang Yoo-min, who took the lead, had his first win of the season and had a chance to win two games since winning the Great Yuwinia MBN Women's Open in July last year.

Bang Shin-sil reduced five strokes on the day to wash away the sluggishness of a 3-over-par 75 in the first round, but failed to close the gap with Hwang Yoo-min, and Yoon In-na stepped into place with an even-par 72 and returned to the halfway total of 2-under 142.

Yoon Na was the No. 1 slugger in 2022, and Bang Shin-sil was the last year's slugger queen.

Hwang Yoo-min, who ranked second in the long-distance category after Bang Shin-sil last year, seems to have finished the long-distance battle between the three most overwhelming long hitters on the KLPGA tour with a unilateral advantage.

Hwang Yoo-min, who has a large physique of more than 170 centimeters and is smaller than Bang Shin-sil, never lost ground in the long-shot match for two days, and was far ahead of Bang Shin-sil and Yoon Na in iron shots and green plays.

He had an average driver shot distance of 256.06 yards for two days, which was not much different from Bang Shin-sil and Yoon Na, who were a little less than 260 yards.

Hwang Yu-min's green accuracy rate reached 83.3% in two days.

Bang Shin-sil had only 69.4% of the green hit rate and Yoon Na shot 83.3%, the same as Hwang Yoo-min, but she was 0.1 behind the number of putts when hitting the green.

Hwang Yoo-min said, "I knew that long shots wouldn't work for Bang Shin-sil and Yoon Na, so I didn't have the burden of long shots."

Hwang Yoo-min, who drew five birdies without a bogey on the day following the previous day, expressed regret, saying, "I could have reduced the number of times at bat, but there were a couple of holes where I missed birdie opportunities."

He explained that the accuracy of the tee shot was a little shaky, so there were many difficult games last year, so he seems to be focusing on the accuracy of the tee shot ahead of this season.

Hwang Yoo-min, who earned the nickname "Assault Captain" last year for his cheerful long hit and aggressive play, said, "It's a nickname that fits my style," but laughed, "That doesn't mean I'm "Assault Forward" every time."

Hwang Yoo-min, who played the return match of Yoon Na, who participated in the KLPGA Tour for the first time in a year and nine months after the suspension of playing Ogu was released in 2022, said, "In fact, we played together on the professional stage for the first time since junior."

Yoon Na and Hwang Yoo-min, a fellow student at the Korea Sports University, introduced that they talked about light topics such as school life and expressed surprise, saying, "He was good at hitting."
