(Kim Si-woo) raised his ranking on the second day of the PGA Tour's "Texas Children's Houston Open" (total prize money of $9.1 million, about 12.2 billion won).

Kim Si-woo shot an even-par 70 with four birdies and four bogeys in the second round of the tournament at Houston Memorial Park Golf Course (par 70) in Texas on the 30th (Korea time).

Kim Si-woo, who recorded an interim total of 1-under 139, tied for 28th, up seven notches from tying for 35th on the first day. Kim Si-woo tied for sixth at the Players Championship on the 18th, the previous tournament, and succeeded in entering the top 10 for the first time this season.

Lee Kyung-hoon   and Kim Sung-hyun (Shinhan Financial), who started tied for 17th on the first day, dropped to a joint 45th in the second round. Both of them shot 2-over-par 72 to even-par 140.

Lee failed to make the cut four times in eight competitions this year, but tied for ninth at the Valspar Championship on Saturday, entering the top 10 for the second time this season. His best performance this season is tied for fourth in the Cognizant Classic earlier this month.

Kim Sung-hyun, who participated in 10 competitions this year, also failed to make the cut four times, showing sluggish performance. At the WM Phoenix Open last month, he tied for 28th, the highest ranking this season.

Tony Finau of the U.S., who reduced his pars by eight in the second round, is leading the tournament. He is the lone lead with 9-under 131 overall. His ranking has jumped by a whopping 34 spots. Finau is aiming for his first win of this season.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler of the U.S., who is seeking to win three consecutive tournaments, is tied for fourth with a 5-under par 135, four strokes behind the joint leader.

Scheffler came out on top at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship, which he previously competed in.
