Hotel and gaming group Sun International and three of its attributes: Sun City in the North West, Carnival City in Gauteng, and Grand West in the Western Cape were named one of South Africa's coolest things at the 2018 Sunday Times Generation Next Awards.
Sun International came in second in the Cooler Hotel Group category and Sun City took first place in the Cooler Local Entertainment Place category for the second consecutive year. Carnival City took fifth place in the same category and Grand West took sixth place.
"We were thrilled that the Sun International brand and its three attributes were named one of the 'coolest' brands by young people in South Africa at this year's Sunday Times Generation Next Awards. The Sunday Times Generation Next Study is a leading annual event in the Youth Brand Preferences and Consumer Behavior Survey, which is in its 14th year this year. HDI Youth Marketers, a leading youth market expert, conduct a survey of more than 70 categories of more than 12,000 young people across the country to determine what children, young adults, and young adults in SA think and aspire to be fashionable.
