Korean speed skating star Kim Min-sun came in second in the women's 500m second race at the sprint world championships to pick the strongest sprint player.

Kim Min-sun crossed the finish line with a personal best of 37.11 seconds this season in the second race of the women's 500m sprint at the 2023-2024 International Skating Union (ISU) speed skating world championships at Angel Max Iher Arena in Germany on the 9th (Korea time).

Kim Min-sun came in second after the Netherlands' Femker Kok (37:07).

Kim Min-sun, who ran with Lee Na-hyun (Korea National Sports University), a junior member of the national team in Group 8.

He first passed the first 100m in 10.35 seconds, the fastest of the 26 participants.

After that, Kim Min-sun, who raced without shaking, showed satisfaction by clenching her fist after checking the record.

Kok topped the list with a new track record, and Erin Jackson (37:13) of the U.S. came in third.

Lee Na-hyun, Korea's top speed skater, came in ninth with a time of 37.83 seconds, and Kim Min-ji (Seoul General) came in 17th with a time of 38.56 seconds.

Kim Min-sun came in fifth with a time of 1:14:69 in the women's 1,000m second race.

After finishing four races over two days, Kim finished with an overall score of 150.490 points and sixth place overall.

The Sprint World Championships run the 500m and 1,000m twice in two days, converting records into points and ranking them with points to pick the best sprinters.

After completing the 2023-2024 season, Kim Min-sun plans to go through a period of reorganization after returning home.

The overall winner was Japan's Miho Takagi, who scored 147.545 points.

The runner-up was Kok (148.100 points), and the third was Utah Leirdam (148.265 points) of the Netherlands.
