The Ontario Lottery and Game Company reminds all lottery winners in the state that last month's Lotto 6/49 winnings have still not been won. A whopping CA$36.4 million was pulled last month, but OLG CEO Barry's winner explains that the winner may have forgotten about the lottery or been looking for financial help before cashing in.
Once again, OLG will inform you that if the lottery winnings range between C$1,000 and C$49,999,90, you will need to submit your claim online or mail it to cash in. And if you receive more than 50,000 Canadian dollars in prize money, the winner should call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss possible prize claim options and book and contact the agency.
OLG CEO Tony Beatonty said this week that $36.4 million in prize money has yet to be paid from January 2022. A spokesman explained that the winner had not yet contacted the agency to claim a huge windfall. This may be because the winner took the time to discuss with the financial advisor first.
He has some winners who have forgotten to check the tickets over and over again and they don't know that the tickets have been drawn as winners. After being drawn as a winner, players can receive prizes up to 52 weeks, while instant tickets have a longer expiration date. Mr. Beatonty advised everyone to check their tickets through the OLG app or local retailers as soon as possible.
Earlier in the day, OLG announced that it was the fourth time in two years that a Barry resident received millions of dollars in prize money from the lottery. Bitonti said the days of people walking without notice with winning tickets are long gone, and winners should schedule an appointment with OLG to receive their prize money at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
Meanwhile, there was no winner in the last lottery draw on June 49. This is because the winning lottery ticket from Saturday did not win CA$8.8 million. The winning numbers for the draw were 01, 25, 26, 37, 40, 43, and 3. Guaranteed CA$1 million winners of the draw are Quebec ticket holders, and their ticket number is 72479786-01.
OLG also confirmed last month that an Ontario resident won the CA$70 million Lotto Max Jackpot. The lucky ticket holder's name is Manoharan Ponnuthurai and his number was a draw for the December 17 game. The 54-year-old says he has no plans to retire early despite major wins.
In early February, Lotto-Québec reminded lottery players that some of last year's prizes were still not being charged. The August draw includes a 2 million CA$ Quebec 49 winnings in the Quebec City area and a 1 million CA$ Lotto Max winnings in Autau from June 22, 2021. The other two will be additionally drawn from November 5, and Lotto 6/49 won on November 24, 2021.
