Korean Air, a men's professional volleyball team, beat Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance with its persistent concentration and organization and added three valuable points.
Korean Air beat Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance 3-1 (24-26 25-223-2231-29 26-24) in the men's visit to Dodram 2023-2024 V-League at Chungmu Gymnasium in Daejeon on the 3rd.
With 15 wins, 11 losses and 47 points, second-place Korean Air was tied with first-place Woori Card (16 wins, 9 losses, 47 points) and remained in second place, less than most wins.
On the other hand, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, ranked third, has 15 wins, 11 losses, and 40 points, so it is not comfortable with spring volleyball.
In men's volleyball, three teams, from Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance to the fifth-ranked OK Financial Group, have 40 points, while sixth-ranked Hyundai Capital is also chasing the third-ranked team with 36 points.
The game was tight.
Korean Air lost the first set without effectively stopping Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's foreign player Yosvani Hernandez (registered name Yosvani).
Korean Air was hit by a strong spike from Yosbani at the 24-24 deuce, and Murad Khan's open spike was blocked by the opponent's blocking wall in the ensuing attack.
Yosbani scored 10 points in the first set alone. Murad, a foreign player who replaced Korean Air, scored three points and only had a 30 percent success rate.
The two teams continued their game with clearer colors from the second set. Korean Air fought back with its teamwork, and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance leaned more on Yosbani.
Korean Air leveled the set score to 1-1 with Murad coming to life in the second set.
The third set was won by Korean Air after a fierce 6 deuce battle.
At 29-29, Korean Air lost a point due to Kim Jung-ho's serve error, and at 30-29, setter Handig dug into Yosbani's hit, and Jung Ji-seok hit a difficult ball to score only.
Against a set score of 2-1, Korean Air finished in the fourth set.
Korean Air allowed its opponent Eddy Zargacha (registered name Eddy) to make up for 20-19, but Lim Dong-hyuk succeeded in a heavenly parry attack to tie the score at 21-21.
After that, the game was tight. At 24-24, Korean Air caught its opponent off guard and led again by a point with Kim Kyu-min's quick attack.
And the game ended with Jung Ji-seok blocking Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's Kim Jung-ho's rear attack at 25-24.
Jung Ji-seok scored 12 points, including 5 blocks.
Yosbani was close to a one-man show with five blocks, two serve aces and 39 points, but there was little help from domestic players.
