Ivan Perisic (35), who played with Son Heung-min (32) at Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League (EPL), returned to his ‘home team’ Hajduk Split (Croatia).

Perisic receives only 1 euro (about 1,457 won) a month from Hajduk.

Hajduk announced on the 19th (Korean time), “We are happy to announce that Perisic is returning to Hajduk after about 18 years.” Tottenham also shared the news of Hajduk’s departure, saying, “I am grateful for the time.”

Initially, Perisic was scheduled to move to Hajduk after the end of his contract with Tottenham until the 2023-24 season. However, both clubs signed a six-month loan contract for Perisic, and he ended his life at Tottenham early.

Perisic has been a key player for Tottenham, but was out of the lineup due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Perisic's last appearance was against Sheffield United in September last year.

Hajduk is Perisic's former team. After growing up in the Hajduk youth team in 2004, Perisic moved to Sochaux (France) in 2006 and has been playing overseas ever since.

Perisic, who played for big European clubs such as Inter Milan (Italy) and Bayern Munich (Germany) during his prime, is known to want to spend meaningful time with his home team without thinking about money or fame.

British media ‘Daily Mail’ reported, “Perisic will play for Hajduk for only 1 euro a month not only this season but also next season.” 스포츠토토맨
