A new "Live Multi-Game" (LMG) product for electronic casino games featuring live dealers is planned to be released before the end of the year by Macao-based expert LT Game Ltd, president Jay Chun told GGRAsia.
The new employee, named "Nera," should appear "by the end of the year," the executive said.
Chun is the co-chairman and managing director of Paradise Entertainment Ltd, a Hong Kong-listed gaming technology supplier and casino services company, the parent company of LT Game.
LT Game's chief operating officer, Betty Zhao, told GGRAsia that Nera represents a "new era." She added, "It's a new live multi-game product with hardware and software." New products are still in development.
She said: "Baccarat players like to see patterns of historical game results, and with Nera, they can not only choose to see these patterns, but also choose their favorite table to bet on. And when certain game trends emerge, for example, long streaks of bankers or players, players will automatically remember them before betting."
LT Game claims intellectual property rights for live multi-games in the Macau market. In the first quarter of this year, Macau's total gaming revenue (GGR) for that category totaled 1.19 billion MOPs ($147.8 million), or 87.5% of the same period in 2019, according to data released by the Gaming Inspection Coordination Bureau, Macau's casino regulator.
The 2019 live multi-game GGR of MOP 2.84 billion was a record since Macau's regulators first recognized the category. Coupled with the disruption caused by COVID-19, Macau's live multi-game annual GGR fell to MOP 923 million in 2020, and after recovering to MOP 1.37 billion in 2021, it fell to MOP 825 billion in 2022.
In addition to preparing for the new product Nera, LT Game has also upgraded existing LMGs deployed in the Macau market, complying with the city's Electronic Game Console (EGM) technology standard version 2.0, Mr. Zhao told GGRAsia. Guidelines from the casino regulator indicate that the deadline for implementing these standards in the vendor sector has been extended from December 2024 to the end of 2026.
As part of the Macau upgrade, the "Lucky Six" side bets, previously available only on the "No Commission Baccarat" version of LT Game's live multi-game unit, will also be available on the "No Commission Baccarat" version. Casino operators will be able to choose the LT Game unit in the "No Commission" or "Commission" format.
Chun also provided GGRAsia's update on the business of Casino Kam Pek Paradise, a satellite casino in downtown Macau, under a license from SJM Holdings managed by Paradise Entertainment under a so-called service contract.
