Leicester City are eyeing Stefano Sensi.
He is an Italian midfielder. He rose to prominence early on, playing for Cesena and San Marino before catching the eye of Serie A side Sassuolo Calcio, who were in need of midfield reinforcements at the time. In three seasons, Sensi made 68 appearances, scoring five goals and providing five assists.
His steady progression overcoming his small size caught the eye of Inter Milan, whose head coach, Antonio Conte, had just been sacked by Chelsea ahead of the season. Sensi headed to Inter ahead of the 2019-20 season.
There was a lot of anticipation before the season started. His performances in the preseason were enough to push Nicola Varela, who joined the team around the same time, out of the way. From his debut, Sensi was on fire, scoring his debut goal. He went on to score in four consecutive games, helping Inter Milan to their first six-game winning streak in 33 years.
The run was short-lived, however. He suffered a thigh adductor injury that kept him out of action for a long time. To make matters worse, his recovery was slow, and he barely returned to action after eight games. Five games in, Senshi suffered another injury. First his calf, then his foot, and finally a hamstring injury, which delayed his return. He played very little for the rest of the season.
Despite playing sparingly, Senshi was able to trigger his full transfer clause and rejoin the team, but he struggled to regain his pre-injury form. A series of injuries, both major and minor, left him as fragile as glass.
He spent time on loan with Sampdoria and AC Monza, where he gradually improved his form. Upon his return to Inter, Sensi's place in the team was even more limited. Even after the start of the season, Sensi didn't get much playing time. Often on the bench, he continued to struggle with nagging injuries and only made three league appearances this season. He was even left off the UEFA Champions League (UCL) roster.
Senshi's contract runs until June of this year. He'll have to part ways with his club soon. That"s why Leicester are interested in him. "Leicester City have approached Inter Milan 카지노 today about the transfer of Stefano Sensi, with talks taking place over a permanent move," wrote European soccer transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano on social media on Tuesday.
Leicester, who suffered a shock relegation last season, are currently top of the English Championship (second tier) with 21 points from two wins, two draws and three losses. They have a 10-point lead over second-place Ipswich Town. If they can maintain their lead for the rest of the season, they'll likely return to the PL.
