There is a player who has been nominated for the Hall of Fame despite only playing six seasons in the American Major League . This is Shohei Otani, who is writing the legend of ‘two and other jobs.’

MLBcom, the official Major League Baseball website, selected 40 active players who will be on the field in the 2024 season with the possibility of being inducted into the Hall of Fame. MLBcom revealed the rankings of players divided into 11 grades based on FanGraphs WAR (Winning Contribution Compared to Replacement Players).

The media said, "WAR records alone do not guarantee a place in the Hall of Fame. However, it can be said to be an important number. On average, the WAR of players who enter the Hall of Fame is around 50 to 70. Additionally, top legend players have 100 WAR. (WAR alone won't get you into the Hall, it's an important number; the average Hall of Famer gets between 50 and 70 WAR, with the top legends getting above 100 WAR)," he explained. 안전놀이터

Otani was ranked 4th out of 11 overall. WAR reached 32. He must have played in the major leagues for at least 10 years to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. However, Ohtani is already performing at his best as a pitcher and hitter and is already considered a ‘living legend.’

The media said, “It would be impossible to make a list of Hall of Fame predictions without mentioning Ohtani,” and added, “Ohtani only played six seasons in the major leagues. The minimum requirement of 10 years to be inducted into the Hall of Fame is several years. “I’m not good enough. Also, I haven’t even played properly for the LA Dodgers yet,” he said.

He continued, “Considering that Ohtani underwent elbow ligament joint surgery (Tommy John surgery) for the second time in his career, it is truly unknown how much longer he will be able to play both pitcher and hitter. There are many stories about him that have not yet been written. “All of these may be problems, but they may not be,” he emphasized.

"Ohtani is receiving endless praise for accomplishing tasks that even Babe Bruce could not accomplish, such as winning the MVP award twice and winning the Rookie of the Year award. We do not know what kind of performance Ohtani will perform in the future, but he is expected to return to New York. “It’s hard to imagine an ending that doesn’t result in him being immortalized up north (in Cooperstown, where the Hall of Fame is located),” he wrote.

In addition, the media selected three players as first-class players, as their entry into the Hall of Fame is virtually confirmed. The main characters were Mike Trout (LA Angels), Justin Verlander (Houston Astros), and Max Scherzer (Texas Rangers). Following them, three second-grade players were also selected: Clayton Kershaw, Jack Crainke, and Joey Votto.

Additionally, MLB.com reported that Japanese pitchers Yoshinobu Yamamoto (LA Dodgers), who has not yet made his big league debut, and Matt Holiday's son Jackson Holiday (Baltimore Orioles), signed a large 8-year, $82 million contract with the Milwaukee Brewers ahead of their big league debut. Jackson Chulio, who signed a contract, was also included in the list of possible entries to the major league.
