Suwon FC announced on Tuesday that it has appointed Kim Eun-joong as its fifth coach. Earlier, Suwon FC coach Kim Do-kyun resigned voluntarily after staying in the K-League 1. Manager Kim Do-kyun headed to Seoul E-Land in the K-League 2.

Manager Kim Eun-joong is one of the legends in the K-League. He is nicknamed "Sharp" and played for Daejeon Citizen (current Daejeon Hana Citizen), FC Seoul, Jeju United and Gangwon FC. He is a legendary striker with 123 goals and 56 goals in 444 games in the K-League.

After retirement, he started as a playing coach in Daejeon, and gained leadership experience as a coach for the Belgium AFC Two Biz and the U-23 national team. He took the helm of the U-20 national team in January last year, and led the team to the semifinals at the U-20 World Cup in June.

Choi Soon-ho, head of Suwon FC, said, "Coach Kim Eun-joong is a ready coach who has steadily gained leadership experience, even though he is a young coach. You may feel burdened about being the first professional team coach in Korea, but if you are with Suwon FC based on your clear soccer philosophy, you will definitely show good results."

"I feel a huge responsibility to be appointed as the new coach of Suwon FC. But I clearly know what my role is," Kim said. "As it is a new challenge for me, I will do my best to meet many expectations."

Meanwhile, Suwon FC will appoint a coaching staff to assist head coach Kim Eun-joong as soon as possible and spur the formation of the team for the new season.
