North Korea, which recently returned to the international scene, winning a silver medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games and breezing through the second round of Asian qualifying for the Paris Olympics, has returned to the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) women's world rankings. North Korea is ranked ninth, the highest ranking in Asia after Japan, which is eighth with 1978.01 points.

FIFA released the December women's rankings on Friday (June 15). North Korea is ranked ninth with 1950.87 points. Previously, North Korea had disappeared from the women's rankings due to a 온라인카지노 FIFA rule that excludes teams from the rankings after 48 months without an A match due to their absence from the international stage since the Cyprus Cup in March 2019.

"North Korea played nine A matches between August and this month, including the Hangzhou Asian Games and the second round of qualifiers for the Paris Olympics in Asia, which allowed them to re-enter the women's rankings," FIFA said. "They started with 1940 points, the same as they had in December 2022 before they were removed from the rankings, and now have 10.87 points, good for ninth place."

"North Korea recently performed well in the second round of qualifying for the Asian Games in Paris. They finished first in Group B, which included South Korea, China and Thailand, and earned a high score. "In addition, during the most recent A match, 10th-ranked Canada, 11th-ranked Brazil and 12th-ranked Australia did not fare as well as North Korea."

Meanwhile, South Korea remained in 20th place in the FIFA Women's World Rankings with 1800.07 points. The team dropped three places to 20th after the conclusion of the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where they failed to win a medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games and were eliminated in the second round of qualifying for the Paris Olympics.
