Sakai, the 'three-cushion powerhouse in Japan,' won women's professional billiards in four years since her debut

Ayako Sakai (Hana Card), a "Japanese women's three-cushion powerhouse," has reached the top of the women's professional billiards LBPA four years after her professional debut.

Sakai came from behind to win his first trophy with a set score of 4-2 (8-11 11-10 4-11 11-0 11-8 11-6) against Kim Min-ah (NH Nonghyup Card) at KINTEX PBA Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on the night of the 4th.

Sakai, who made his professional billiards debut in 2019, reached the top in his 22nd tour tournament.

He is the third Japanese to do so after Orie Hida (SK Rent-a-Car) and Natsumi Higashiuchi (Welcome Savings Bank).

Sakai, who has a husband and two children in Japan and is active as a player in Korea, said, "I want to hug my family when I go back to Japan. And I want to make delicious rice for my children," he said.

Sakai, who gave up the first set, was dragged 1-2 until the third set, but showed his potential to win three sets from the fourth set to the sixth set.

Sakai gave up the first set in four consecutive games from the round of 16 to the final and turned the game around.

Meanwhile, the well-bank top ranking, which is 2 million won in prize money given to the player who hit the highest average in a single game of the tournament, went to Sron Piavi (Cambodia, Blue One Resort), who scored 2.273 average against Park Soo-hyang in the round of 64.

Professional billiards, which has completed all the schedules of the women's competition, will start the men's PBA Tour 128 round from the 5th. 스포츠토토
