KT WIZ catcher Jang Jang-woo (33) is a representative player who proves the preconceived notion that catchers must have slow feet.

He has accumulated 220 professional hits with his one-hit wonder bat, but he has only two triples in his career, with 120 doubles and 98 home runs.

When asked if he was conscious of a cycling hit (hitting both a single and a home run in the same game), Jang laughed: "I've only hit a triple twice in 16 years of playing, so I didn't expect it." He went 4-for-5 with five RBIs in a 9-8 win over the Doosan Bears in Jamsil on Sunday.

Jang hit his ninth and final three-run home run of the season in the first inning, foreshadowing his volcanic hitting, and followed it up with a two-run shot in the third.

He added singles in the fifth and ninth innings to complete his first four-hit game in 1,911 days since May 24, 2018, against the KIA Tigers.

Prior to this game, he had been in a hitting slump, totaling just four hits in 12 games in August, but the four-hit day signaled a breakout from his slump.

Jang said, "I don't know if it will be a rebound. I haven't had many opportunities to get on base lately, but today my teammates set me up from the beginning of the game, so I was able to focus more and get to the plate, which led to a good result."

With the win, KT swept a three-game midweek series against Doosan and extended its winning streak to five games.

They are now two points behind second-place SSG Landers (55 wins, one draw and 44 losses) and third-place Doosan (56 wins, two draws and 45 losses), who are without a win.

"When I wasn't playing well, the other players did a great job, so I felt comfortable winning the game," said Jang. "I'm a catcher, so I focused on starting pitchers and minimizing runs."

KT's magical rise has taken them from the bottom of the standings until May to a position above second place.

KT catcher Jang Jang-woo credits the team's calmness for their success.

He said, "We've come this far by doing our best every day. I think it's time to get better," he said, adding, "If you get greedy, your play will get messed up. If you do the same when it's hard, you'll be able to go even higher."  카지노사이트
