As Legion is nearing us, we sat with lead game designer Luis WOW WOTLK Classic Gold Barriga, technical game designer Chad Nervig, and Genvieve St Michel, the character designer, to discuss the lengthy development expansion in greater detail, examining the specifics of Legion's ambitious modifications and examining the future plans of the team after launch.
P2Pah: Just beginning to get started We'd like to know if you could give us an overview of how Legion can be integrated into existing stories?
Barriga: Barriga's theme for the expansion is that of the third coming of the Burning Legion to Azeroth. They've tried to infiltrate us twice, and we've fought them back before. This brings us to the first big new feature I'm so enthusiastic about. This is Demon Hunters. Demon Hunters is the Special Forces branch of the Elf, if you like They were Demon Hunters. The most powerful. All they trained for was combating and destroying demons.
Unfortunately, some of their strategies were misinterpreted by their brethren. They were arrested and sentenced into prison. You're one of the Illidan's followers. When the Legion is back, it's like, "Well, do we would like to try our luck with these renegade Demon Hunters or do we prefer to concede defeat?" The brave guys decide to bite their tongues and leave the"real" World of Warcraft out, and that's where Demon Hunters come in.This Demon Hunter class represents a dark area for the good guys
As we discussed revisiting the idea about Demon Hunters, revisiting Illidan the thing that enthralled me was we get to tell the tale that we've been unable to tell before. Maybe , even if you did not understand Illidan but you could see what he was trying to convey. We'd like to alter the tone and change the direction 15-degrees, 20-degrees. But we need to respect the character of the characters that were presented. The players will be able to see returning characters like Alturus, Akama, Illidan Maiev, Illidan, and more. These are all characters we began to plant the seeds for those stories a long time in the past, before even Burning Crusade.
What will the story be organized in Legion? Does it have a single straight-forward campaign, or are the story's story broken up in some way?St-Michel: Much of the overarching storyline is held within your Class Halls so you're not missing any part of the overall story. In general it's very enjoyable especially for those who play numerous alt charactersand characters. You can start in the same zone with one characterand move on to another zone on another.
