Blizzard Reduces Price Of WoW Burning Crusade Classic Cloning Fee After Player Outcry
World of Warcraft Classic's upcoming Cloning of characters will see price cuts following a complaint from players. The cost to copy the character's individual traits so that it can be used simultaneously on WoW Classic Era realms and new Burning Crusade Classic realms will start at $15. down from the initial announcement of $35 that Blizzard had made previously buy WoTLK Gold.
All existing WoW Classic realms will be immediately converted into the Burning Crusade expansion with the introduction to the Burning Crusade pre-patch on May 18. At that time the players will need to decide on a character by character basis whether to participate on Burning Crusade servers or to move to Classic Era realms which won't progress to the game's next expansion. Cloning a character in exchange for the associated fee allows that character to be played in two versions of the game.
World of Warcraft Classic: Burning Crusade Releasing
In a post posted on the official WoW Classic forums, Blizzard outlined their original reasoning for the fee of $35. "This service--providing a player with the ability to play a second player in a different game is novel for us," the blog post reads. "Our first idea of the worth of this service was largely determined by the way we price various other options and services. We want players who select Classic Era realms to feel as if their decision comes with the assurance that they'll have the ability to develop relationships and guilds with other players that they can trust.
But, over the past few days we've received a extensive amount of feedback from players and we've opted to lower the cost buy WoW WoTLK Classic Gold. A lower cost could nonetheless meet our goals for the new service, as well as increasing the number of players who can play characters from the Classic Era or Burning Crusade Classic realms."
