You can decide if you want to D2R Items take on the campaign, it's a 35-hour experience that is just brimming with story and characters that are really human and easy to connect with on an emotional level. We've spent a lot of time on the campaign in Diablo 4 and we're really pleased with how it's progressing.

Fergusson: One of the things that in the previous Diablo games [is] that you were working with iconic characters so there was this like, "Oh, you're this Barbarian that's known from the history or the lore about the game." And now with the customization of the player, you make your Barbarian.

You are able to choose what their appearance is the gender, hairstyle, gender makeup, whatever you'd like done to make it truly your Barbarian. You can also create your own background story, and then from that you're selecting your abilities and then you're able to pick the most diverse skills to create your own. Sort of like Diablo, which is great, but it linked a lot of what you were doing to the gear.

And so if you wanted to improve your skills then you simply changed the equipment you had in your arsenal. But that's not true in D4. Of course, gear is essential to your build however it's your skill choice that determines you and then you incorporate these decisions into the game.

The story isn't linear so it's up to you how you tell the story. You're part of a shared worldand you are able to explore it instead of engaging in the story if you desire to. You are free to go wherever you'd like within Sanctuary and visit things like dungeons. You can also do other things , and even take on the role of a world boss, or do buy D2R Ladder Items local events, so you're in control.
