And Joe in your role as D2R Items Director of Diablo 4as director of Diablo 4, there has been a buildup of momentum and now you're the next step in the one-two-punch of Diablo returning. What's it been like to have this job, and how do you handle the adversity of pressure; how do you manage that?
Joe Shely: Well, it's been a blast making the game, and getting to share. I'm always thinking "Okay, don't discuss the Necromancer. It's not the time to start talking about the Necromancer yet." So I'm extremely thrilled to be able speak about the Necromancer.
However, it's a truly thrilling time for Diablo. The world of Diablo 4 is this vast, big shared open world. You're creating your own character and immediately entering the world. There's no need to create individual games. The world is yours and traversing across it to find the dungeons. It's Diablo in the way it was intended to be enjoyed.
Concerning the Necromancer clearly a character with a long-standing legacy to it, but also I'm guessing that the majority of fans are going to be hoping to see something brand new in comparison to having a character that is returning. What was the decision making procedure to bring back the Necromancer, instead of saying, "Here's something that no has ever witnessed before?"
Shely: Well, in many way, Diablo 4 is a love letter to our fans. We've been focusing on this concept of returning to darkness. We're also aware that when we create the Diablo game, the fans have a lot of expectations in the form of D2: R, Diablo and prior Diablo games that they've enjoyed.
Therefore, we are aware that we have a lot of things that just need to be there. Also, when we're considering the classes we wanted to ensure that the experiences which players cherished from previous Diablo games were buy D2R Ladder Items offered and also brought into the most current versions of themselves.
