Apple Store and iTunes Gift Cards Merge

Today, Apple launched redesigned gift cards in the United States. Beyond just a visual redesign, the new cards combine the previous Apple Store gift cards, which were used for product purchases, and the iTunes & App Store gift cards, which were used for digital content purchases on the iTunes and App Store. To get more news about 海外充值, you can visit nnxwheels.com official website.

Everything from the packaging to the graphics has been redesigned. There are even collectible stickers featuring some of these graphics that come with the card, including some available exclusively through Apple retail. This move helps to reduce some of the confusion between different gift cards and what they can be used for. Apple had previously renamed iTunes gift cards to iTunes & App Store gift cards to clarify that they can be used for any digital content, including apps. Some people also tried to pay for products in a store using iTunes gift cards, which was not doable as they were only redeemable for digital content. The move to a single gift card that can be used for either product purchases or any digital content simplifies the buying process.

So what happens to existing cards and balances? First and foremost, your Apple ID balance (the balance of any iTunes gift cards you redeemed) has been renamed to Apple Account balance. This balance can be used to purchase any product, content or service. Physical Apple Store gift cards can still be used as normal, but can only be used for products. Only the new gift cards work universally for products and digital content.

Apple also wants to take the time to educate customers about gift card scams. Scammers have been perpetuating fake calls more often lately, posing as the IRS, police, Apple Support, even a relative; and demanding payment via Apple gift cards. Apple wants to remind customers never to share the redemption code on their gift card. None of the aforementioned entities will ever ask for payment from a gift card, and everyone should be extremely suspicious of cold calls from any of these entities. Apple Support, for instance, will never make unsolicited phone calls to you about your account.
