Sony Reveals Its Plan to Stop the PS4Sony they are planning to wind in it's PlayStation 4.
First released back in 2013 The PS4 has gone on to become one of Sony's most successful consoles but it's also among the top-selling gaming platforms of all time. However, Sony is now looking to sell the PS5 as the primary hardware, which means the PS4 is likely to come to an end. Now, thanks to new information from Sony it is now possible to get an estimate of when PS4 may officially be going away.
In Sony's most recent financial statement, it stated that games available for PS4 will cease to exist in 2025. It doesn't mean, however, that old PS4 games won't be available to purchase, but Sony intends to finish releasing new titles on the platform by the time this happens.
In the meantime, in 2025, Sony is predicting that the majority of its revenue related to games will come from PlayStation 5, with titles that are available on PC as well as mobile bringing about a third of the revenue.
All in all, this isn't surprising considering that the PS5 will be Sony's main future focus for years to follow. Yet, it's important that, at the moment PS4 PS4 is a platform Sony is still developing and releasing games for. In fact, the biggest PlayStation title, God of War Ragnarok is scheduled to be available on PS4 as soon as it's released.
At some point in the next couple of years, Sony will likely end having a more significant announcement related to PlayStation 4 PS4 and the official end of its lifespan. We've been told of this, it's likely that the announcement will likely be announced before 2025 rolls around So, be sure to prepare for it.
