Default credentials are used to login to the router when you set up the router or perform a reset. One of the basic requirement is the password, the default password is also mentioned at the back of the router on a sticker. The Netgear router default password is password or admin. Let’s see how to navigate to settings using default credentials. Steps to access Netgear settings:
 Connect to your wireless network using the WiFi or you can use the Ethernet cable.
 Open the web browser and type 192.168.0.1.
 Now, enter your Net gear username and password to access router remotely.
 In case you haven’t changed, default username and password are, username: admin, password: password.
 You should be able to log in to your router and carry out the task.

To log in to your Netgear router using the default credentials, follow these steps:

Connect to the Router:
Ensure your computer or device is connected to the Netgear router either via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.

Open a Web Browser:
Open a web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.

Enter Default IP Address:
In the address bar of the web browser, type the default IP address of your Netgear router. The common default IP address is "192.168.1.1" or "192.168.0.1". Press Enter.

Login Page:
You will be directed to the router's login page, where you need to enter the username and password.

Enter Default Username and Password:
Check the router's documentation or the router itself for the default username and password. Common default credentials are:
Username: admin
Password: password or 1234

Login:
Enter the default username and password and click the "Login" or "Submit" button.

Change Default Credentials (Recommended):
After logging in, it's highly recommended to change the default username and password to enhance security. Look for the option to change the credentials in the router's settings menu.

Router Dashboard:
Once logged in, you'll be taken to the router's web-based dashboard where you can configure various settings.
