Why is my printer not printing?

It is possible that the printer is not powered on, this may also cause brother error printing. Check to see if the power cord is plugged in.

There could be a paper jam. Check to see if there are any jammed sheets of paper in the printer. If you find any, remove them and then try printing again.

The ink cartridges may be low or empty. Replace them and try printing again.

Sometimes, printers are finicky—there may be paper loaded, but if the printer can't grab hold, it's going to think it's empty. Try removing the paper tray, re-aligning the paper, and sliding it back in. In other instances, there may be some paper jammed in the mechanism.
