In such cases, one has to run the Print Head Alignment Utility and while doing so it is important to make sure that the printable side of the paper is faced upwards in the sheet feeder.
Then, one has to run the Head Cleaning utility to clear any clogged ink nozzles.
Next, be sure to clear all the customized settings and then click on Text and Image setting under Quality Type. This can be achieved from the software’s Main Menu in case of Windows. In case of Mac, one can select the Automatic setting under the Mode in Print dialog box.
Check for ink in the cartridge and replace it if necessary.
It is also important to make sure that the Minimize Margin is not selected under More Option and Maximum setting is not selected under Printable Area. Banding might occur in the expanded area if the option is switched on.
The Media Type also has to be appropriately selected.
