Things to do when the printer is in an error state
Restart the HP printer
Your HP printer can get a runtime error when some files stop working. But this error can get fixed by restarting the printer and computer. Also, restart the computer and then connect the printer cable. Give a new command and then check your HP printer for error.

Try printer troubleshooter
Whenever you get any printer error; go for a troubleshooter. Most HP printer errors can be resolved using the troubleshooting utility. If the printer is facing an error due to an error on any files on the PC; the troubleshooter will fix it. Open the computer and then go to the troubleshooter tab. Click on the printer option and run the utility. It will check errors and then repair them instantly. The user will get a report wizard on the screen. After repairing, you can use the HP printer.

Check HP software on PC
The user requires HP software known as a driver on a connected PC. Without this, you can’t take the printouts on HP devices. Sometimes the user forgets to install the HP software. Check the HP model and get its driver on PC. If you have installed the setup then check for the new update. In case, the HP software files are not working then repair them. Don’t open and edit any driver file manually. You can use the driver repair tool or reinstall the driver. Remove the corrupted HP software and then get a new one from the website. When the computer gets new software, the printer will find it and take the printouts.

Check the HP printer connection
If the printer is in an error state HP, you should check the connection. Many times, the printer stops working due to a faulty cable. Remove the cable from both ends and check the pins. The user should check the USB ports on the computer. If the port is used then try connecting the HP device to another port. Never use the USB of other devices. Your HP printer won’t work on low-speed cables. Use a printer high-speed cable without any kinks. If the user has connected the printer to the network, he needs to inspect the WPS pin. Restart the router and Wi-Fi button on the printer. When the lamp is blinking, check the printer screen. Click on the correct SSID for the HP printer connection and then check the error message.

Check toner on the HP printer
Your printer can’t work if the toner is about to empty. Check the level on the printer and get a new cartridge immediately. HP original cartridges are costly; people often install clone cartridges. Never install clone cartridges as many HP printer models can’t recognize them. You can check if the cartridges can be refilled. After refilling, install the cartridge and then you can use the HP device for printing.

Reset the HP printer
If your printer is showing errors after you change some settings then undo them. You may have made any invalid change that is interrupting the process. Go to HP printer settings and revert all the changes. Undo the changes when you know the initial settings. If you don’t know the correct settings then use the reset tools. A simple reset will make a few changes to the printer. Run a reset and then check printer related errors. If the printer is still getting the same issues; go for a factory reset.

Check HP printer screen and choose Setup
Click on Tools
Hit on the Restore Defaults
Choose Yes and your HP printer will restart with factory settings. Now create a new printer password and configure the HP device to PC or network. Add the device and try taking printouts with HP.
