Every year, T+L invites its readers to participate in our World's Best Awards survey, in which they can express their opinions on the world's best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. The hotels were evaluated based on their facilities, location, dordle, service, food, and overall value, among other factors. The properties were divided into two categories: city and resort, based on their location and amenities.
This year, when travelers wanted to enjoy a domestic vacation while remaining socially distant, readers gave the highest ratings to character-packed resorts that provided plenty of privacy and space, according to Travel + Leisure readers. A total of four boutique properties in New York State earned coveted spots on this year's list, including the Roundtree, Amagansett, which was ranked fifth on the overall list. This intimate Hamptons hideaway, which will open its doors in June 2020, was named to Travel + Leisure's 2021 It List of the world's best new hotels on the strength of its well-appointed accommodations (a mix of 15 rooms, suites, and cottages) and immaculate grounds. "It's truly exceptional," said one of the voters. another said, "It's a beautiful hotel on the inside and the outside." "The service is outstanding — we will be returning here more frequently in the summer and in the winter months."
