Its objective is twofold: both the sharing of information on the progress of the Sprint but also the blockages encountered and how to overcome them. Maximize the effectiveness of these meetings by keeping his main asset in mind: his energy. Indeed, a daily Scrum that lasts too long tires your team and transforms the productive meeting into a mandatory daily test.
Here are some tips to galvanize your team and energize your daily meetings
The essential 15-minute timebox
To get the most out of it, make sure the daily Scrum is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes. Set up a timer or timekeeper so everyone can see and keep an eye on the clock.
Thus, each participant is able to " timebox " himself, always keeping the key reflex in Agile: self-management.
5 minutes of daily preparation
Take 5 minutes to prepare for your meeting:
A member who has not thought about his daily is a member who risks breaking the speaking rhythm and slowing down the team.
In your Sprint management tool or on your Dashboard, each member notes the Users Stories placed in the “ Done ” or “ Completed ” category to remember the features that have been developed.
Each member identifies priorities based on the Sprint goal before committing to what will be done during the day. If he encounters difficulties, he must summarize them in a clear sentence. These difficulties, called Impediments , will have to be addressed after the daily with the members concerned in order to free the devteam: the daily is not used to deal with problems, but to identify them.
The 3 essential questions
It's a long debate, and although they are not imposed, it is often the same questions that come up on the daily. The Scrum Master is not supposed to intervene to give the floor, each member should himself address the 3 daily questions:
What did I do yesterday?
In other words, what are the user stories that you were able to drive up to the “done” column (or “dev done” or any other designation corresponding to your definition of done also known as “DoD”). Everything that is not done still requires work.

What are my goals for today?
Make sure every member is tackling the Sprint goal.
Do not hesitate to challenge the participant by asking for their objective for the day and their method of achieving it, always in a performance approach and not a report or an interrogation.
Did I encounter any difficulties?
If the answer is yes, the member concerned must summarize the difficulty in one sentence and, if so , indicate that he / she has stuck a post-it in the table of impediments (on your scrum board and in your management tool of Sprint)
Two points of view must be taken into account so as not to break the dynamic:
When speaking: stick to facts, avoid digressions and justifications, avoid technical vocabulary;
While listening: do not interrupt the person speaking.
